anyway... looks like a good Sci-Fi movie. But doesn't look at all like a star trek movie.
That's just my personal opinion.

I take it that the kid at the start is trying splutter out James Tiberius Kirk, it appears he's not too sure who he is and its slightly mumbled or can't get the lone right:o* KIRK, James T probably IMO would have worked better. As that was Jim's continue answer throughout the old series and films.

The lead in is fast, then completely loses me on what the adventure is all about. or have I lost the plot on this trailer? Yes, I agree with Explorer, I looked at some previous Star Trek trailers and I have to say although this one does look good, hell, where is that Star Trek feel? The only thing I recognised was the alert sound!

Anyway, as all, looking forward to the movie with an open mind.

i'm a very old star trek fan and grew up with TOS. so this movie is very different from everything we are familiar from TOS. i don't like to debate about it - it happens rough enough at several places.
at the other hand: our kids are grown with movies like batman, spiderman, the trilogy of star wars and so on. they laugh about the nostalgic scenery from TOS back from the 60ths. so maybe this movie can open the issue from star trek to them and we will see some new young fans here in future. who knows? so i'm willing to give this movie a chance, regardless of my own feelings and opinion.
