Hey, LCARS24 sent me over from TrekBBS, said to ask here.* And forgive me if I break some unwritren or written rule.
And I'll be quick I promise!* ;)

I'm studying at Stafford University, UK., on a Film Production course. I'm in my final year and my lecturers have (most of them say stupidly) agreed to let me build and assemble a full scale bridge in the television centre we have on campus. It's up for 7 days in June, filming HD with a cast of about 15, and then ripping it all down just after.
I'm working on all the LCARS myself and had some initial help with scale/design etc from Tobias Weimann, however there's one that's causing me some problems, and thats the MSD, it's really REALLY getting under my skin!* I've got to recreate the Nova-class MSD in 300dpi to be back-lit on a 2.4m width transparent acrylic, and I'm afraid I'm under-skilled. :(
Would anyone happen to have anything like that? Vector based if possible cus thats easier to resize. Obviously any files would remain offline and be destroyed afterwards if that's your wish, and all credit will be given.

Can anyone help?* I'm at breaking point!* :'(
John.

hey john

welcome at this tiny spot in the universe....
there are some great MSDs for the nova-class out there and i really hope, some of the creators will be willing to help you.
if not, i'll try to do something for you. to be honest, i would like to see some of your lcars work first and especially the colorschemes you've used. this would be a great help to do the MSD in the same style and colors to fit in.
please send me a pm and let me know your e-mail, so we may correspond, if you like.

regards

Hi John,

Welcome.

I have produced a Nova MSD (USS Equinox) some 6+ years ago which is based on Screen Captures/ST Mag/and ST Fact Files.
Link here:

http://www.lcars.org.uk/lcars_files/LCA ... ox_msd.swf (http://www.lcars.org.uk/lcars_files/LCARS_USS_Equinox_msd.swf)

This is downloadable as a screen saver for MS OS.

As Deif states, it would be a great help and important to do the MSD in the same style and colours to fit in with what you are planning.* How are you basing your studio scale bridge set, like the original, in which the MSD is a pinky colour?
Most of my work is carried out in Flash, and I could assist you in producing either Flash or jpg at 300dpi.* Do you want it staic or animated?

Here to help like most members.

To both of you, here's an idea of what I'm working on.

http://www.dosime.co.uk/personal/uni-imgs/engI.jpg
Splits into five sections starting at the top, 50cm, 40cm, 18cm, 35cm.
for here... http://www.dosime.co.uk/personal/uni-imgs/012.jpg

Ive got five others that I'm working on too, aswell as two inner consoles, captains arm rests, helm/ops and door controls.

As for colour this is the set I'm using, although I always seem to stick with pastel coloured blues. http://www.dosime.co.uk/personal/uni-imgs/colourset.jpg

Adge, that msd looks good.* Is that Equinox or Rhoad Island?* The script is somewhere before End Game about 2398 so were heading for the later.

John,

The first jpg is from ST Fact Files and the later ST Mag.
