View Full Version : Romulan Graphics
in between, a romulan console graphic, similar to the one showed at the attached auction pic. enjoy.
and here comes another romulan display graphic. i did this one years ago and had to remaster it a little bit. it's inspired from screencaps from nemesis. enjoy.
Great job Deif,
I also have copies of the original pictures from the Ebay sell from IAW.*
The large Console, I have never got around to animating it as it was shown in the Enterprise series beginning with the pilot episode Broken Bow where it was a Suliban console, then later in the episodes Babel One, United, and The Aenar where they were altered to appear as Romulan computer consoles. Confused as they say.*
The Nemesis it also very well done.
As always you have done a masterly job. Thanks for sharing.
thnx for the kind comment, adge. i tried to do the klingo nstuff and came back to my early romulan graphics. funny how things are, sometimes. i had a request for romulan warbird bridge graphics, but didn't found a lot until know. do you know some resources? i would appreciate any help. thnx.
and here comes the d'deridex warbird graphic.
i used the warbird msd pic from the auction as reference. but the graphic there looks a bit ridiculous in comparsion of the size of the d'deridex. this starship is huge! so i had to draw the cutaway first, i've seen a quote somewhere, that the d'deridex has the same height as the empire state building. so i took this as reference concerning the numbers of decks. i also tried to prevent to let details look too federation style e.g computer cores and so on. hope this makes sense.
enjoy.

Wow, the Warbird! Although uncommon shaped, I like this design. Great work, deif!* ;D
Well Deif,
The warbird d'deridex-class is both an elegant and powerful starship, and seeing it presented within the classical Romulan style screen, 'yet low and behold' we can all see the MSD itself!*
Wow you showed me it earlier, I just knew you would come up with a super graphic.
A very good job done indeed.
thnx, bros
here a more or less self explaining addition graphic. enjoy.

I do!!! Wow, my friend, how long did it take to make this?* :o
^
for the cutaway of the warbird with all decks and interiors - about two weeks. working mostly at night between 22.00 to 1.00 and in free times at the weekend as well.* the surrounding border graphic i needed about 3 to 4 hours.
a lot of hours just for fun!

Truely amazing work. I can't help but feel like you would need something behind the cutaway itself. Feels kind of blank with just the black background. The black and white explanation version seems more filled. Perhaps you could add a romulan type "explanation lines" to the color version. That just my two cents.
Again great graphic, and I can't thank you enough for posting it.

thnx for all kind comments, my friends.
and that is, what i'm expecting from a forum, explorer. encouragment and helpful suggestions. you really helped me a lot with your "two cents", thnx. i'll take them grateful. it's true, its a bit empty in the background. will have a look for it.
and here follows the corrected version of the warbird graphic after the helpful suggestions from explorer. thnx, man.
hope it looks better now...

Great job Deif.
Deif,
That screen does look magnificent now .*
I would like to see what it would be like by adding the touch control keyboard like the one shown here. I think it would show a lovely balance. See attached. What does everone else think?
what do you have in your mind, adge? do you like to do this or would you like me doing it? i'm still working on a display, which is very similar and i can use some elemens from there for the mentioned keyboard.
regards
and here comes the graphic according to the previous reference. enjoy.
Hi Deif,
I thought perhaps combining the two graphics, the key pad above, which you have masterly produced (Wow) and your main screen showing the warbird all in one graphic. Hope I'm making sense?
thnx adge.
okay, now it makes sense. i will have a look, what i can do. more latter....
in between, here comes the main viewer of the bridge onboard a d'deridexwarbird. enjoy.
Deif you must be working overtime! :)
This is beutiful, colours are just right.* I can't wait until the final two pieces are put together.
^
LOL! No,* it's easy, because as more i draw, i can use already existant elements, change them a bit and put them together in a new way. saves a lot of time. and the challenge to do this ist just overwhelming. really love this romulan stuff and as more i work on it i understand it better. that's all.
but thnx for your appreciation.
well, and here is the control console. enjoy.
and second in combination with the mainviewer. how does this work?
Deif, it looks stunning. You are like me, using pieces from other pieces of artwork.* Okuda and his team did this all the time. This is a fabulous piece of artwork. Thumbs up from me.
and here is the second version.
Deif, again it looks stunning. I hope that you are pleased with the final versions.
^
i am, adge.... i am. thnx.
and here follows the d'deridex bridge walldisplay, similar to the attached star trek auction pic. enjoy.

Very nice work on those Romulan graphics deif.
On the last one, I wonder why you use white colour for the grid like background. That grid looks green/teal colour on that attached picture. Once again my two cents ;) You're work is superb nonetheless.
Thanks for posting.

Deif,
not wanting to nitpick. To me it looks like the Romulan logo is a tad off in the*d'deridex bridge walldisplay, more specific the left 'claw'.
I am not sure how accurate this one is: http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Earth-Romulan_War
As ussual, you have outdone yourself.
Great work. I love it.
@ explorer and j.anderson
thnx for the comments. you're right. it was late night, when i posted the pic and so i didn't saw the white lines. fixed now. also the romulan seal needed soem corrections. hope it's okay now.
Deif, you have mastered this well, and with the other main Romulan Graphics, this is now a nice unique set. Very well done indeed.
D'deridex Warbird revised
bill morris did a deeper research about the d'deridex warbird including contacts to mr. andrew propert. the result is this revised version of the graphic.
the whole rear section is changed and shows now the impulse drive engines. i could shape the front section to a better view after a sketch from mr.propert. the definitive location of the bridge is clear now, also the shuttle bay. i've also changed the location of the navigational deflector.
mr. propert didn't create the d'deridex warbird with the huge front disruptor cannon, but we saw this weapon in action later in the dominion war.
i think, there are different versions of the warbird design and i decided to show the version with the disruptor cannon.
a colorized version will follow later. enjoy.
Deif, I have comparred it to the one you had sent me some months ago, and wow to this verion.* can't wait to see your coloured version :)
well, and here follows the colorized version. enjoy.
and here follows the new romulan warbird "norexan" or "valdore"-class.
603m long, 908m wide. i followed the sketches from john eaves for the ship's shape and used the same style as for the d'deridex warbird. enjoy.
a colorized version and schematics will come soon...

Fantastic, Deif!!
well, and here follows the color enhanced version for the norexan(valdore)-class MSD.
i've added the romulan emblem from nemesis as background and also a cutaway of the wing mounted weapon pod with a disruptor cannon. some small changes are done at the cutaway as well. hope, you' ll enjoy it!
Deif this great, wow indeed. we now have a pair of beutifully mastered Romulan Graphics. Tip top indeed.
Thanks indeed my friend for sharing them. 8)

Very nice Deif
The colours do like quite challenging. Not your typical Romulan scheme. It's probably from "Enterprise".
The first graphic looks almost like a usual Romulan screen, but the second ones looks more alien. I mean it is probably one of the few Romulan screen with a circle in the layout.
Great work and thanks for posting.

after a long time a new romulan interface graphic!!!

hey deif wow that is really nice work! I think you already saw it on my facebook pinboard (http://www.facebook.com/pages/SPACEPropShop/170430319693861). There I did a posting where you could see exactly this graphic sold with the following description on ebay:
Star Trek Nemesis Romulan Valdore Console Backlite Graphic Film from the collection of Star Trek Nemesis and Voyager Senior Illustrator Rick Sternbach.
And here the ebay link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Trek-Nemesis-Romulan-Valdore-Console-Backlite-Graphic-Film-/320819401056?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ab2539160#ht_500wt_970
Now it would be possible to create our own panel. Thanks again for sharing! cheers
thnx guys
it's a lot of fun to do this stuff. hope, you'll enjoy it too...........
in the post-nemesis future of star trek we saw the end of the borg threat with an unbelievable price (destiny trilogy) followed by the uprising of the typhon pact as a new opponent to the federation (typhon pact series). galen82 did a wonderful concept for a powerful romulan warbird as successor of the D'Deridex-Class vessels - the D'Shara-Class. i personally prefer his concept as one of the main battleships for the typhon pact. so i did a MSD graphic of this wonderful ship and hope, you will enjoy it too.......

and here are two schematic views of the impressive warbird:
