Thinking of a new forum and more.

Hi guys,
First of all I would like to think all of you for keeping this website alive. I actualy thanks to our regular posters, I'm thinking of revamping our little community.

1- First of all I'm thinking of switching over to PHPBB3. Would that bother anyone? I'll welcome comments and past experiences.
2- Would you like a front page? A place where you could see some of our work, like a picture of the day,etc. Maybe a frontpage like Wordpress. I don't know.
3- Would some of you regular members like to have some free space with no ads or any assle to upload all your images and files to?
4- More infos, tutorials etc. on how to make LCARS. Maybe tutorials from me and other members.
5- A collection of reference material. Screenshots, videos or anything else LCARS related.
6- Anything else I might have forgotten?

Let me know what you guys want. This little community is for you, so it should be shape according what you want, not what I want.* :)

I have read that PHPBB3 is quick and easy to use, and I would be quite happy to use it.
A distint LCARSC front page perhaps would be nice, which shows for example recent work shown as small pictures perhaps. I personsonally don't requre any free space as I have my own site. But thos that don't, I'm sure it would be a winner. Tuts are great for everyone. Reference materiel is good to have as a record.
Perhaps have a LCARS feel to the forum?
It sounds good, perhaps select a PHPBB3 Template, and we can give ideas in making it the way we wish it to look like.

i think you do an outstanding job with this forum, explorer. thnx anyway.

if you like to develop and the change forum software for better useablity, it will be for the beneifit of all. that's great.

i would love to have a front page with more expression from different artworks. feel free to do something like that.

i'll also vote for a reference archive. i have tons and tons of different pics on several harddisks at home, and they helped me, so can they do for others. and soeme of them members had helped me with their reference stuff. so why not to share them at the same place - but only for members (because of the copyrights!)

concenring tutorial i find them great. but to be honest, my english is too poor to write or create on of them. i can provide tuts in german, but not in english. that's my personal problem.

so i look forward to the development of this quite and small place far, far away of the main traffic in the universe. but that's what make this place such lovely.... ;D

My first change will be the site's logo.
I've attached a picture of a banner I just did, with the slightly modified logo. Let me know what you guys think.

the logo looks OK to me, but I wouldn't use the color red. It simply reminds me of "Red Alert".....

Great banner, but the red is not my taste. Use a normal yellow or light brown from TNG, that would I use!* :)

I do like the new banner, it is nice and simple and states precisely what the forum is.

I add to the previous comments, the reds are the alert colours, which immediately draws your attention, if that is what you are trying to achieve, try some other LCARS colours around the main frame area and see if that works as well. It might be worth showing three or four colour banner idea's.
