Resistance is futile. We wish to improve ourselves. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service ours. :)

Looks right. With the Hive Mind, everybody knows the function of every control. No need for labeling.

Thx for the replies guys. I had one hell of a time finding a decent way creating those whatever they are called (lightning bolds?) connecting the spheres.
This display is based on a small display as seen in ST:Voyager - Unimatrix Zero.

I always imagine that in that scenario, there will be no need for interface at all.

Great job on that tactical scan analysis j.anderson,
colours and layout are very nice. The only thing I would change is the actual sphere colour. This entire graphic seems to be using a specific scheme. But I feel that the blue is out of place. Perhaps going with orange or the same blue/purple you used for the top numbers.
Just my two cents, otherwise WOW.
Thanks for posting.

Explorer, actualy, the sphere has the right color, the text has changed color a bit due to the backlight effect I used (which btw is based on the way you do your backlighting, except that I applied it to the entire artwork).
Thanks for the comments guys, especialy Explorer. Getting a WOW from him means a lot to me.
I'm in some kind of a Borg mood and I'm thinking of making a few more in this theme.
Needless to say, the sphere was a B**** to create.
Some interesting stuff about this display:
1. you won't find this layout, as displayed here, in the series, I created it from scratch. The only part you will see in the series, is the sphere, which comes from ST:VOY, Dark Frontier (screenshot attached).
2. for size comparison: the sphere alone is 3000x3000 pixels on the full scale original.
3. several practical jokes have been worked in (in agreement with M. Okuda's style); for example: one label is labeled: LA BEL, another LA BOR, there also is a HI RES, LO RES and NO RES(olution) button.
hey john, yo got a WOW! from me as well! great stuff!
i'm actually spending my holidays in ireland, so i don' have access to the internet all the time. but i really like, what i see - both here in irleland and in this thread. keep your good work up!

Thx deif. I dunno what to say, 2 of the greatest LCARS artists I know giving me a WOW is like getting the congressional medal of honor pinned on your chest.
How's Ireland? Have a few pints on me mate and if you encounter one of those Irish Spring, redhair, pearlwhite teeth, greeneyed girls, don't question it if she asks you on a date, just go with her.

Impressing artwork! :o
John,
Very nice artwork indeed, and you quite rightly deserve a 'WOW' from me as well, plus I'll admit, I have a liking to Borg interpretations. :D Great interpretation indeed.
This particular Borg Sphere was one of my first animations as seen on this web page:
