View Full Version : U.S.S. Grandeur-A LCARS
during the sorting process if my stuff i became aware, that i did a lot of graphic stuff for the Grandeur Project. as some may know, i'm the chief engineering of this wonderful starship and i'm responsible for the LCARS grahics. It's a real experience to work with wonderful people like Darren "The Commander" Sexton, Jason "Vektor" Lee, Zack "Countdown5" Morgan, Brian O'Laughlin and more including adge ;-)
so here are the graphics for CONN console and what Countdown5 created with them.....enjoy!

Looks great and very authentic! Thumbs up! :)
Deif,
Wonderful LCARS as always.
But, I'm embarrased now, as I have been slack in catching up on all the U.S.S. Grandeur-A animations. Darren must be a patient man indeed. I will get a move on ;D

Wow Dief I thought your others were coming along nicely also (I remember seeing the first series that you published and you are definately getting better at your work!) but this is seriously AWSOME I love the design great job!
and here follows the graphics of the science station on the grandeur bridge. countdown5 used them to render the 3d model of the station. enjoy and maybe you'll see the fault - LOL!
Oppppps front left and right panels upside down ;) ;) ;)
As a master of LCARS these are Lovely Deif, quite the Grandeur-A natrual look and feel with them.
By the way I have just completed the USS Blackfoot screens for Darren.
yep, adge.
good to hear you're back on the Granduer/Blackfoot stuff. look forward to this
some more stuff:
the communication station opposite to the science station. enjoy.
and more:
the tactical station

Great work Deif.
The colour scheme you've used is great, but It makes me wonder how it would look in RED ALERT, since most of it is almost already red-ish.
Top quality nonetheless my friend.
Thanks for posting.
thnx, explorer
the color scheme was given from the Grandeur responsibles. i will try to do a red alert version for you.....
last for today:
the ops tac managment console. enjoy.

Although I see the Grandeur as nothing more than a big willy waving project by some super hero snydrome suffering fanboys, I absolutely LOVE the LCARS you've drawn for it Deif.

well, for just some fanboys there is a punch of famous people working for the USS Grandeur like Vektor, Countdown5, Smallworld, Zack, NigthShadow, Adge, The Commander and more.
and aren't we all fanboys- with or without super hero syndrome?

Doesn't mean that, in my eyes, the project is any less fanboyish.
Looking at the specifications of the ship and it is apparent invunerability just makes me instantly dislike it as a whole. The spec ship screams "Super hero syndrome".
It reminds me of a boy in a school playground shouting out that his stuff was bigger and better.
But don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the workmanship. There is some wonderful work going into fleshing out the ship and it's components.

well, this may be, if you only read the weapons sys specs of USS Grandeur. but you have to consider as well, that the ship isn't a starfleet vessel and it's tasks are different. i see the ship more as some kind of a advandecd technology carrier in terms of weapons sys.
anyway, it's a wonderful group of people gathered around Grandeur and it's a lot of fun to work for that project. and at the end of the day, that's what count for me.

Great LCARS all around deif! I really like the graphics as part of the station renderings, very well done and it just makes the panels come to life. Any chance to see these stations with the LCARS animated?
well, i'm not familiar with flash, sorry. i always work with illustrator and at some occasions with photoshop, that's it.
the renderings are made by zack, i was just drawing the LCARS graphics using his uv-maps. adge is helping us from time to time with specific animations and maybe we can admire some this LCARS as animations some day als , who nows?
and here some news from the USS Grandeur project
that's the result, if a famous scifi-artist from germany works on the Grandeur Bridge Pics and use my LCARS stuff for them. enjoy.
well, here a little bit more of the U.S.S. Grandeur bridge - the rear stations with the Master System Display. i'm very impressed how tobias richter has integrated my LCARS graphics i did for the project. wonderful - and i hope, some of you are with me.....

This is so cool deif,
those people modelling this set are just amazing and do your graphics justice. If I could recommend one thing to them (and you of course) is to see if they could put the "grey frame LCARS part" above the reflections. In the show and movies, these would be stickers that they would put on top of the plexiglass and therefore, would reflect as much as they currently do in these renders.
I hope I'm making sense and thanks for your ongoing post and participation.
thnx robert
good to see you back and to hear from you. hope for both of us to find a bit more time for our "hobby" in future...

When would somebody start to create a "real" bridge? I think we all of the knowledge for this. The Grandeur bridge in virtual looks very nice. Then the bridge in real must be very great! ;)
