The latest Trek film is set back in Kirk's Cadet years at Starfleet Academy. With CBS now in charge of the Star Trek Franchise, and an entirely new cast and production team, this is a bold new move for Star Trek.

But is it the right move!?. What are you thought's on Star Trek's latest incarnation!!?

I think its going to be a big "flop". My dad always told me:
"Son, in life you should never look back, always keep your eyes on the future!"

Although I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about Star Trek, I would personaly love to see what happens to the federation after Nemesis, with either the Ent-E, the Titan or even a totally new cast.

But thats just my opinion.

I second explorer. personaly my favourite was ds9 and I would prefer to see, what happend after the dominon war and the nemesis incident. to see kirk as starfleet cadet does not really thrill me.

they proved it was a bad idea going back with enterprise. why do the exact same thing with new production staff?
i will still watch the film (since it isnt based around enterprise) but i havnt got high expectations. its like the new starwars trilogy, it wasnt as good as the original but it sure as well was watchable and they didnt screw up the canoness of starwars like enterprise did too startrek. oh well, atleast they are actully still interested in making startrek after enterprise so there is some hope

I agree with that.

A new era for TNG was beginning after Nemesis, Riker was placed in command of a the Titan, The Romulan's were making overtures for peace with the Federation. There are still so many questions that need answering!!.

I for one would love to see a new series about the Titan with Riker as Captain, it would be great!!.

I think that M@DM@X also has a point, that enterprise did turn out to be a flop (even though I really enjoyed it!?). There is still a BIG fanbase for Star Trek, just look at all the Fan made spin off's that have been made since the demise of Enterprise.

So... What about the cast,

With this new movie already being written, which actors/actresses would be good for the roles of Kirk, Bones, Spock, Uhura etc.

Hey Lee Wolfgang,
welcome to explorermedia.net...

Lets just say that these photos evoques a kind of mixed feeling towards the upcomming movie. Theses uniforms and ship designs suggests that J.J. will follow cannon, and adapted it. But I also have a feeling that there's something I won't like about.

I guess we'll have to see how it turns out.

Thanks for posting.
Thumbs up for you sir.
