Here is a display from Voyager's season 4 episode, Scientific method (season 4, 6 and 7 are my favorite) were seven of nine attempts to alter the internal sensors to detect invisible aliens. This is not my final, I intend to make some alterations. the color schemes were taken from the screen caps and the numbers and texts were from the Captain's Chair Game. the buttons were taken from Lcarsmania.com.
please leave comments and suggested improvements.

Sheldon : ) make it so

HI Sheldon,

when I started in 2002 creating LCARS graphics I wasn't as good as that. But what kind of software are you using? This looks like MS Paint to me.

as the commander already said, the overall style looks great. but in times of cheap vector graphic apps it's way too much pixelated. you should definitely consider to use a vector graphic app to do your artwork.

The pixels, that seems the only thing that disturbs the good artwork!

When I create my LCARS I use Inkscape.. its FREE. If you are interested you can get it at inkscape.org and I'd be willing to help you get up to speed with it if you like.

Here is an example:

Hi Sheldon.
This might sound crazy, but for LCARS images, I do literally everything in Flash. Not that using other programs is a bad idea, but Flash has the added bonus of being Flash. After exporting the desired image, you wanna animate it? Make it interactive? It's already Flash, do it. You can pick up older copies for around $60. It's really worth the investment, because once you learn Flash, you have a transferable skill for life.

The same here with your written lines and the backgrounds, you see sometimes another color as a frame.

Sheldon, these last two are very nicely done. I would recommend find a 'Painting medium that you can master and use continuously, and as ZellDenver says, ''You can pick up older copies for around $60'' or even less, from Flash through to Paitshop Pro, and many other products.

I think deif posted an interesting hint for us a while ago, free editions of Adobe products, I think .....
This would probably help!
