    Cool Raging Tempest MSD

    Hello there!!

I am a gamer who plays Star Trek Online a lot, and my Main flies a Tactical Escort Retrofit using the Vigilant Configuration, named the Raging Tempest. I heard about this set of Forums, and I hoped that someone here would be willing to do an MSD of the thing. :D

Here's a link to general information on the Vigilant-Class, and the following list contains special items that I want included:

    • Cloaking Device
    • Quantum Slipstream Drive
    • Omega Drive (Overdrive System I came up with, triples the ship's performance for 10 minutes)

So, would anyone be up for making an MSD for my ship?

    hi takeshi yamato

welcome here at this tiny place of the universe. hope, you feel well and comfortable and will have a great time with us.

concerning your request: the pics on STO looks good, but they are all in a extreme distorted persepective. to do a good MSD someone would need a sideview in high resolution or better orthos of the ship. if you can provide something like that, you would made things easier. just a hint from my side.

    regards

    Thank you very much.

Here is the largest side view image of the Vigilant-Class that I could get from a Google Image Search:

I hope it's large enough for you.

If you can handle a slow build (meaning, it will take time, because I am doing this on my laptop, while I am on hollidays) I don't mind putting something together for you based on the Defiant MSD I drew a while ago.

This is what I have so far:

    Definitely don't mind waiting.

I would appreciate updates on your progress every so often, but they are not required.

Just make sure you don't forget the Cloaking Device, the Quantum Slipstream Drive, and the Omega Drive (the Omega Drive should be grafted onto the Warp Core somewhere, yet be small and relatively unobtrusive).

Thank you very much, and good work so far.

EDIT: Forgot to mention this earlier, but the Registry Number for the U.S.S. Raging Tempest is NCC-108597.

    Nice.

Think you could replace one or both of those shuttles with a Delta Flyer?

EDIT: Actually, I'd just get rid of the shuttles entirely. As you can see from the following Front View of the Vigilant-Class, there really isn't room for a fourth deck to put those shuttles in:

EDIT: Actually, I'd just get rid of the shuttles entirely. As you can see from the following Front View of the Vigilant-Class, there really isn't room for a fourth deck to put those shuttles in:

    Dimensions:

    Overall Length: 180 meters
    Overall Draft: 32 meters
    Overall Beam: 136 meters
    Displacement: 115,600 metric tons

    Defensive Systems:

    Reinforced Deflector Shield Generators
    Dual Ablative Armor

    Velocity:

    Cruising: Warp Factor 7
    Maximum: Warp Factor 9.5

    Offensive Systems:

Fore and Aft Type XII Phaser Arrays
    Fore and Aft Torpedo Launchers
    Phaser Cannons

I don't know, but it seems to me with an overal draft of 32 meters, 4 decks shouldn't be a problem. That's like 8 meters (or 24 feet) per deck.

    Standing by.

I guess. However, the place you've marked in the MSD as the fourth deck is actually part of the Nacelles which extends below the main hull (something which is probably included in the draft measurements), which I don't think would work well for Shuttlebays (or Torpedo Launchers, for that matter).

You might still be able to pull off four decks, but they have to fit where the top three decks are in your current version.

This may be an alternative (got rid of the entire 4th deck).

I am also thinking of maybe getting rid of the docking bay (above the deflector) and place the fore torpedo launcher instead, then throw in some bunk beds, a mess hall and a conference room, turn the 4th deck into a half size crawling space for environmental stuff (see red arrows on beautyshot) and I think we should be rocking. After all, this is a warship, not a pleasure cruiser.

What do you think of that?

I also attached the outline study I did (with the limited material I could find).
