First of all thank you that you would allow me to use your LCARS graphics...

I could understand that you do not permit any LCARS work you do for sale. But I do not believe that this would go against CBS/Paramount licensing. I sell self made Star Trek PROPS, a lot of people on etsy.com do this and there are also a lot of people who did this on www.rpf.com or www.ebay.com. I also wrote Paramount CBS because of the licensing and the do not give me an answer. So many many people sell their self made Star Trek stuff. So were do you get the information from that this should be forbidden? I would be very interested in that!

Thanks a lot for your information! kind regards

It's definitely "theft of intellectual property in bad faith". CBS would be entitled to an injunction, however I can't comment on the policy of CBS/Paramount Plc or it's affiliates and/or licensors. I can however say that CBS regularly exercise their rights1 when it comes to places like Apple's AppStore and pull any "pay to download" LCARS (and other Star Trek) apps. Props used in Star Trek are also protected by patents2 in the United States and other countries. They do however offer a very generous view on not for profit fan productions3.

That's pretty much the abridged version of what I know. hope it helps.

    3. "CBS (and previously Paramount Pictures), which owns the legal rights to the Star Trek franchise, allows the distribution of fan-created material as long as no attempt is made to profit from it without official authorization..."

    Edit:
I'm not boring, not this boring, I swear... XD
