Thread: ..Scan Analsis

    Default ..Scan Analsis

I'm in need of help. I'm working on a nice big app, but I'm really rigid with 'canon' and screen accuracy. There's this little animation seen throughout Voyager called simply, "Scan Analysis". My problem is, what can I name the screen that's not "Scan Analysis"? What could it be analyzing? The reason is, the app will have voice interface support, and there's a ton of subroutines that end "Scan Analysis", so it's too confusing. I was thinking of "Particle Scan Analysis"; you know, like an analysis of the particles moved aside by the main deflector... It looks 'deflectorish' to me.

    THanks in advance, guys.

Hm, "Deflector Particle Scan", "Deflector Analysis", "Deflector Energy Check", "Deflector Range Check", anything in this direction .....

well, i would leave ir as it is. it's "Scan analysis" in the original shows and we can see this LCARS graphic all over the different places. who cares, what it' s analysing. just my two cents.
btw. the main analysing graphic in the right bottom between the braces looks too symetric for me. maybe an asymetric shape looks better.

I wanted to leave it as Scan Analysis, but then the voice commands fail to work. The shot you're seeing is pretty symmetrical, I know. The animation loses symmetry after a few frames though. I dunno though, I'm not really happy with it, I think the 'bars' are way too thick for the resolution. Thanks for the input, Deif.

    Hey ZellDenver,
    how about these:

    Forward Aversion Scan Analysis
    Aberration Scan Analysis

Just a shooting out some ideas here.

Also for your graphic, lowering the size of the "bars" and adding more of them would definitely make it look nicer.

Thanks for the suggestions, Robert. I think "Forward particle aversion scan analysis" might be just right.Thanks.

Yeah, I'm gonna scratch the whole animation. It was initially drawn up for the brackets in the top left, just scaled up. I must admit, however, I hate doing 'bars'... XD

Yeah doing "bars" or squarish graphics can be a pain. Do it once and you are done with it and if you need tricks or help with that... don't be shy to ask!
